Milestone Missions
Milestone Church would like to introduce our new Missions Director, Stacey Hatcher, M.D. After 15 years of practice as an internal medicine doctor, Stacey felt God's call on her life to do something different, something more. Stacey, Alex, and their two children joined Milestone Church 2 years ago and God has been doing amazing things in their family since that time. Stacey has a huge vision for missions at Milestone. Her view is that it's not a mission department; it's a mission mindset for the whole church. YEAR IN REVIEW
In 2011, Milestone Church made a huge impact in our community and the world.- We were able to serve single moms with a Mother's Day Brunch and provide gifts, lawn mowing and handyman services totaling over $20,000.
- We ministered to over 300 people in the homeless community by serving Thanksgiving breakfast at Beautiful Feet and planting a garden for Feed by Grace.
- We provided 200 backpacks and $500 in school supplies for children through Hope for North Texas.
- We volunteered in the pantry at the Community Storehouse.
- We served and visited the elderly at Whitley Place.
- Over 20 people volunteered to remodel a home with Habitat for Humanity.
- We helped Samaritan House with a 5K fundraiser benefiting those with HIV/AIDS.
- Our Milestone Women made a huge impact at Real Choices with our diaper bag and formula drive in the summer, and providing 50 fleece blankets and 50 flannel lovies. They also donated 65 Thanksgiving food baskets to neighborhoods surrounding Milestone Church.
- Elevate Student Ministry raised an incredible $126,000 to build two orphanages and a water well in India.
- Finally, we took a team to Singapore where we partnered with a local church and missionaries that we support to host Vacation Bible School and a youth camp.
EASTER OUTREACH:
We are excited to partner with the Community Storehouse to host an Easter Outreach for families in need. We will be providing 500 Easter baskets for children ages 2-10, gift bags for older children, a new set of clothing for each child, and a boxed Easter meal for the family to take home. The event will be at Milestone Church on Tuesday, April 3rd from 10am-6pm. We will have games, music, food, and opportunities to connect with local families in a meaningful way. We need lots of volunteers the day of the event, and will be collecting Easter basket and clothing donations during the month of March. If you'd like to volunteer, please email .
Plans are underway to make 2012 an exciting year for Milestone Missions by expanding our regular ongoing serving opportunities and our international missions focus. We will be partnering with some of the same local organizations as in 2011, but adding new opportunities as well. We are currently planning the following mission trips for the coming year:
New Orleans Dream Center
March 11-15. This will be to partner with Church of the King in Mandeville and serve at the Dream Center.
Kenya Medical Mission Trip
May 31 – June 14. We will be partnering with Open Arms International to provide medical services to the local community as well as a children's ministry team for the orphaned and abandoned children in the village. To donate to the Kenya team click here.
